Negril is a modest but greatly dispersed beach resort city situated across regions of two Jamaican parishes, Westmoreland as well as Hanover. Westmoreland is the westernmost parish in Jamaica, situated on the southern section of the island. Down-town Negril, the West Ending cliff resorts to the southern region of downtown and the southern section of the so-called "seven mile beach" are in Westmoreland.
The beach's extent is the something of legends--it's in reality not much more than four miles in length, however travellers and travel journalists insist upon the "seven-mile" label. The northernmost accommodations on the beach are in the Hanover Parish. The adjacent large town is Savanna-la-Mar , the capital of Westmoreland Parish . For many years, Negril's beaches have been considered as one of the top ten beaches throughout the world by numerous travel magazines.
